Apply for your own Island Back to Main Page Here's how the program works: You find a traffic island or roadside area that you think would look a whole lot better if it had a nice flower or plant arrangement. If you feel you can maintain the island, then contact the program manager (see below) The City of Holyoke provides: Bark or wood chip mulch for the island A sign with your name or company's name Watering throughout the summer You purchase the plants and take care of planting, fertilizing and upkeep of the island. You also have to make arrangements for any additional loam Plant height can not exceed 30 inches, as the view of traffic might be obstructed The island location must be in a spot where it is safe to park nearby, safe to work on and safe for the Water Truck to stop If you are interested in sponsoring an island: Print the Application Form and Fax or Mail it to Tighe & Bond (see form for Fax # and address) Call Diane at 562-1600, X128 Back to Main Page
